In the mood and on the move...

vielen Dank für's Folgen. Heute möchte ich einige Tobi-Eindrücke mit Euch teilen.
Zuerst das Moodboard. Es soll das "look and feel" zeigen, was ich für Tobi und all die anderen Tobi-Produkte erreichen möchte...

Ein Moodboard erstellen ist ein wichtiger Schritt des kreativen Prozess, denn es ist ein optischer Leitfaden für das gesamte Projekt. Es dient dazu, es mit Entwürfen für Produkte zu vergleichen und zu sehen, ob sie die "Stimmung", die man ursprünglich erzielen wollte widerspiegeln.

Für Tobi entschied ich mich für eine Mischung aus Fell und Wasserfarbe. Ich dachte, das wäre ein schöner Kontrast, der aber auch harmonisch ist...




Für die nächsten paar Wochen muss ich das Projekt aber leider etwas auf Eis legen, denn ich bin gerade mitten im Umzug zurück nach Deutschland. Ich fühle mich ein bisschen hin und her gerissen, da ich so gerne weiter daran arbeiten würde, aber es ist wohl besser zu warten und dann mit neuer Energie in meinem neuen Home Office zu starten. Darauf freue ich mich schon sehr!

Und die zwei Tobis sind auch schon umzugsfertig!

To create a mood board is an important step in the creative process, as it works like a guideline throughout the whole project. You can always go back to it and compare it with the products you created and see if they still fit into the "mood" you originally wanted.

For Tobi I want a mix of fur and watercolours. I thought that's either a nice contrast, but also harmonic...


The next couple of weeks I have to pause the project a little bit, as I'm right in the middle of moving back to Germany. I feel a bit torn, as I would love to continue, but I know it's better to wait and then start off with new energy in my new home office. Really looking froward to it!

 And the Tobis are ready to move, too!

Ja, es sind schon zwei. Der vordere im Bild ist der 2013-Tobi, ein Prototyp, den ich genäht habe, um zu testen, wie er mit dem neuen Plüsch aussieht, und um einen Weg zu finden seine Augen herzustellen. Die Augen waren echt ein großes Problem, denn die, die ich für den Original-Tobi verwendet hatte, sind aus Glas und daher offensichtlich nicht für ein Spielzeug geeignet, dass auch für Kinder sein soll. Aber mein toller Ehemann hatte die Idee Kunststoff-Nuggets zu gießen, und die sehen wirklich toll aus! Bin super glücklich damit!


So, nun ist alles gepackt und ich kann es kaum erwarten wieder alles auszupacken und los zu legen mit der Produktion ... Stay tuned :)

Yep, it's already two of them. The one screen left is the 2013-Tobi, a prototype I made to test, how he will look with the new fur and how to create his eyes. The eyes have been a big issue, as the ones I used for the original Tobi were made of glass, which you obviously can't use for a toy that should be suitable for kids. My lovely husband had the idea, to create plastic nuggets by himself and they turned out to look amazing! So happy about that!

Well, for now everything is packed, but I can't wait to continue... Stay tuned :)
